I contracted with a lawyer, name Ms. [deleted] [a different attorney than our firm]. She
completed and sent all papers to Vermont INS, for the whole process, and we waited about 6 months for
the pre-approved visa, then another 3 months for the appointment with the consulate in Ecuador,
Guayaqui
She had the appointment with the US Consulate in Ecuador (Guayaquil) because all papers were fine
and legal, then the unexpected happened, when she got to the appointment.
In the morning, the consul had the interview with her, and she told me by phone later, crying and
desperate that the consul didn't believe her. ... The consul denied S. [fiancee] the visa to come to reunite
with me . . . this Christmas. ... She felt like he didn't believe what she told him. She obviously was
nervous because he asked her a lot more questions than another couple that went that day to the
interview she told me. I just write this letter with all my heart. . . ."
